The next morning

“Zev, are you okay?” Magnus asked, his fingers reaching across the dining table to grab mine, squeezing them gently. “Did you feel uneasy anywhere? You know you can tell me if you’re exhausted or something… I’ll just drive you straight to the hospital.”

I sighed and rolled my eyes. This was the tenth time he was asking me the same question since morning. He thinks the steamy sex we had at the pool yesterday must have weakened me and put the babies in harm’s way.
