Chapter 119. A Charred Aftermath

Maggie POV

The sun rises against the hazy sky. All I can do is sit on my porch, staring blankly at the shell of the building across from me.

There was no containing the blaze, even after the Alpha King and his men left, dragging Mr. and Mrs. Fahler with them, forcing them to walk behind the carriage in chains. I caught a glimpse of Mrs. Fahler as she stole a glance behind her, as everything that she and her mate had worked for all these years went up in flames.
