Paige’s POV

"Don’t touch me, please don’t touch me," I crumbled to the ground as the memories of that night plagued me. Tears fell freely from my face and I felt a heavy lump in my throat. I wanted to throw up and at the same time, I wanted to wail but I couldn’t. I kept on seeing myself in that room and that killed every strength in me. I was shivering and it wasn’t because it was cold, it was because I was scared.

When my mate walked in and he spoke to me, I felt a little bit comfortable but when he yelled at the two people here to leave, my breathing became hitched at that moment. I got scared for a minute and when he attempted to touch me, I lost it.

"Fine, I won’t touch you but please, let me take a look at your arm," I raised my head from the floor and stared at him. Our eyes met once again and I felt that warmth in my belly. It was strange. I’d had my fair share of lovers in the past but this feeling was different.
