Chapter 28
Gabriel’s POV
As soon as those words kissed my hearing, I turned softly on my feet and ran towards my house. I didn’t stop to say hi to any of the pack warriors calling my name for greetings or to Ola who told me he needed to discuss something with me urgently. Nothing else mattered other than going home to Paige to confirm if she was okay.
At that moment, I wished I was a vampire who could just pop from one place to another. I wished my mother shared traits with vampires and gave me some of those abilities of theirs.
"Gabriel,"
She called again, the wind blowing the word to my ear. Everything around me seemed to sit still and I could see the wind rushing around me. This was the first of its kind. It has never happened to me before. I was awake, nobody has ever called out to me while I was awake. This was supposed to be impossible. This thing only happened when I was asleep, not when I’m awake.
