Chapter 14
“What are you doing here, and why are you wearing an apron?” I asked, amazed, my mind trying to put pieces together.
“I work here,” he said, eyes twinkling. I felt he was messing with me.
“You said you were a gym instructor. So how is a gym instructor an electrician?” Skepticism colored my voice. I was even more shocked to hear my tone. I knew I took a deep breath in order to retain my coolness. Why do my emotions mess up around this guy?
“As I told you, I go to my gym if I have clients to attend to. If not, I just work here, also if I do have work to attend to,” he said, staring into my eyes. I was inwardly struggling to break the gaze, but it seemed I didn’t have the strength to.
“And also,” he said, “if you are here, that means you have finally come to work here, and our letter went through.”
“Work here? The letter went through? What’s that?” I was puzzled and confused at that moment. Then it hit me. Oh my gosh.
