Chapter 124. Fairwell
I walked to where Moriah sat, my claws retracting and my eyes returning to their night-blue color. I picked up the two baskets we were supposed to buy food items with along the way, letting out subtle grunts as I snatched them from the ground. The flames of the soldiers who were still standing around the knights went out one by one, and the atmosphere started to cool down.
“Let’s go, we’re done here,” I said with a commanding tone, stomping the ground with my left foot as I stopped in front of her. I threw her basket to her aggressively and rested my fists on my waist, furrowing my brows and letting out another grunt to show her I was very upset.
Moriah stared at me for a moment, then pushed out a sigh and rose to her feet. “Aren’t we going to buy food anymore?” She asked—silly Moriah.
“I don’t know, Moriah. Are we? Look around you; the vendors have all deserted their shops, and half the area has been demolished,” I replied, raising my voice angrily.
