Chapter 34. King Richard

~A few months ago~

A few days after the war between the Andreia and Valtorian Army, our soldiers retreated after receiving a heavy blow to their forces, and the Valtorian soldiers, including their king, stuck around the western city to see if anyone would stop them from moving on to the next city.

Father had just arrived at the eastern Andreia with a small troop. They were coming back from a meeting in the western city, and as they rode through the gates, soldiers who lined up along each end of the gate waved large white flags that carried the Andreian insignia. My father, the king of Andreia, sat in a coach specifically made for him. It was designed with gold, silver, and marble, glimmering under the sunlight like it had just been polished.

Father didn’t look happy; his hands trembled, and his eyes were filled with regret. He had done something unjust and unbecoming of a king, but for the interest of the people of Andreia, he had to make this decision.
