Chapter 60. Kiss on the Head

Keira felt a soft rustle in her chest. Her stomach turned upside down, and she turned her head away, hiding her flushed cheeks.

“Good! At least what I did is not in vain!” she said, trying not to sound nervous.

Ben took a deep breath, leaning his back against the pillow. “Are you nervous about tomorrow?” he asked, his eyes still focused on the TV screen showing the movie The Revenant they were rewatching.

She shrugged her shoulders,

“Not really. I mean, it’s a wedding, but I’ll treat it as a play so I can live it carefree,” she chirped. Of course, she lied! She was very anxious and excited about what would happen the next day.

Ben nodded,

“Yeah, let’s assume this is a stage play, but I want you to know that I’m grateful that I got to meet someone like you. You are a good friend, Keira. I promise we will always protect each other’s back….”
