Chapter 61. The Day

The next morning

Keira woke up too early because she felt nervous out of a sudden. She sat upright on her bed, glancing at Ben, breathing softly beside her. She reached out her hand to touch his cheek. They would soon be married. Whether it was all just a play, marriage was still a marriage. They have to take it seriously.

Ben’s sudden stretch startled her, so she quickly pulled her hand away. She glanced at the digital clock on the nightstand. The screen showed 5:00 am, too early to start the day.

It took minutes for her to collect her soul back into her body; she chose to get out of bed and walk to the bathroom. She was feeling very restless; her stomach suddenly felt queasy for no apparent reason; what had happened to her? Did she have a panic attack?

Feeling breathless and needing fresh air, she took her cardigan and walked out of the room slowly because she didn’t want to wake Ben, who was still sleeping soundly.
