Chapter 8. Off to Michigan
“I won’t be out until tomorrow morning; you can cook anything if you’re hungry, but you have to keep everything clean and turn it back to where it belongs. Good night,” said Ben after he threw the milk box into the trash bin. Keira chose not to say anything. She didn’t have an appetite to eat anything. Her mind was occupied with the picture of her parents’ reaction when they heard about her marriage plan.
She looked around the penthouse, feeling empty. That beautiful big penthouse couldn’t change her mood at all. She rose to her feet, took a bottle of vodka from the fridge, and poured it into a shooter. She sat on the floor because Ben would not allow her to lie on the couch. Her mind was busily reminiscing about how it all started, how she fell into that big debt hole that brought her into that kind of life.
Everything felt so absurd. How could Charlie know about her debt and share the information about her with Ben? It was absurd...
