Chapter 9. Stern Tone
A few days passed. Everything is normal. He’s a gentleman. He will drive me up to school and in the afternoon, and the driver will pick me up. He comes home at six o’clock and sometimes eight o’clock.
I’m done with the chores and have cooked in that time.
“I’m not going home later.” I stopped drinking milk at what he said.
“O-okay.” We’re at the table now and eating. My class is at seven-thirty in the morning.
“Don’t wait for me.” He said, not looking at me. His gaze was on a magazine as he drank coffee. I suddenly felt pain. I know he was like that then. I shouldn’t be surprised if he’s like this again now. He’s being cold again. We don’t talk that much now.
