After a long, strenuous flight, he reached Palermo, the capital of Sicily, the next day. Memories of the five years he spent here working for Di Salvo’s mafia gang, Nuova Stidda Mafiosa (NSM), instantly hit him hard.
With them headquartered here in Passo di Rigano, he was sure that they had received information about his arrival. But he wouldn’t meet them now. He had to go home first and plan this out.
Taking a bus, he reached his hometown, Mondello, in forty minutes. He watched longingly at the vast stretches of pristine beach that characterized the small town, bustling with tourists. His family would be so thrilled to see him after two years. If only he had his Emilia with him!
