Chapter 27. Where Was Her Dream Man?

“We can discuss this tomorrow. Be ready by 9 o’clock.” His gruff tone made Brooklyn realize it was the end of their discussion and maybe he would go into another bout of silence again. “I’ll be going out shortly. Don’t wait for me.” Brooklyn nodded.

Why would she wait for him? As it is, she was dead tired from so much traveling and work. Anyway, she didn’t need him. She had her dream man to look forward to. Would he visit her tonight as well?

Just as predicted, he again went into another bout of silence as they finished their dinner. Nikolas got up, picked up his mobile phone, and looked at her. “See you tomorrow.” Brooklyn nodded as a sense of loneliness swept over her and she did not know why.

“Won’t you come back in the night?” Her melancholy eyes locked with his. Nikolas gaped at her. Was she upset because he was going away?

“Why? Do you need me here at night?” His eyes glittered with amusement. Brooklyn blushed to the roots of her hair at his implication
