Chapter 32. In Love with Her Dream Man

“You can finish your food first, Brooklyn.”

“I’ll complete this work first. I don’t want you to repent for having appointed me, sir,” she answered without looking up at him, making Nikolas gape at her audacity. How could she answer back to him? He felt a little guilty for saying things to her he didn’t mean at all.

“Okay, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean what I said earlier,” said Nikolas, apologizing for the first time in his life. Brooklyn looked up at him, her eyes filling up with tears.

“I want to be more productive, Mr. Ardolf. I won’t give you any reason to repent.” Nikolas nodded and walked out of her room before he melted and pulled her into his arms and kissed her passionately, like he was dying to do.

Brooklyn sighed and completed her work, and then she walked back to the kitchen to eat her food. She sat down and thought about her brother. If only he would return and pay back the money. She would be free to go far away from here.
