“A mother’s love is unconditional, Nikolas. Maybe your mom had no other option left than abandoning you. You don’t know her, you don’t know what she was going through, do you? Maybe that was the only option she had to save your life. You can’t hate all women when you don’t know the reality,” she told him. Strangely, he silently listened to her, their heavy breathing echoing in the otherwise quiet room.
“How can you say that for sure?” he whispered in a choked voice, after releasing a staggering sigh.
“I know what a mother’s love is, Nikolas. Believe me, if they can, they’ll give up their own lives to save their own children,” she explained.
