Chapter 82. Blissful Days
In the next few days, Nikolas’s wound healed up well, and he started going to work. He insisted on Brooklyn working for him like before as his PA. He wanted her near him all the time. So Brooklyn climbed into his car, wearing a coffee-colored skirt suit and matching pumps. With her hair tied up in a French twist, her cheeks rosy, she was a sight to behold. Nikolas gazed at her as she fixed her seat belt.
“I’m having second thoughts about this,” he muttered impatiently.
“About what?” asked a clueless Brooklyn.
“You should have worn a sack and covered your face like the pirates do,” he said with a groan. Brooklyn giggled and smacked his arm.
“Then you too have to wear the same and cover your face as well,” she insisted.
“Why should I? I don’t stand a chance beside you,” he grimaced, making Brooklyn’s grin widen at the compliment.
