“So, what are we thinking?”
They were standing outside a small building, appraising it.
“I don’t like it, it’s too purple.”
“Too purple? Are you serious?”
“Yes!”
“You know you can just paint over it, right?”
“Yeah, but it wouldn’t be the same. You know? It’s like, I wouldn’t have the same building in its original state; I would have the dregs, and I don’t want the dregs; I want the whole thing. You feel me?”
He swallowed and cleared his throat. Oh, he felt her alright, except he wasn’t thinking about buildings.
He was thinking about her.
“Yeah, I get you. So should I cross it off the list or what?”
“Nah, don’t cross it off yet. It’s pretty, and the inside is spacious enough. I can use it as a last resort if every other building is just as ugly.”
He laughed at her cruelty. “Carlton did you a favor, you know; the least you can do is not call his top five selections unstylish.”
