“You are extremely lucky, Mr. Lotto, but do not mistake luck for invincibility.”
The doctor stood at the foot of the hospital bed, his arms crossed over his white coat. He looked directly at Jared, who was already sitting on the edge of the mattress and trying to button his shirt with one hand.
“You are being discharged under strict orders,” the doctor continued. “You are to rest with no physically strenuous activities and stay off your feet for at least two weeks.”
“Two weeks?” Jared scoffed. “That’s just ridiculous, Doc. I am fine.”
