Chapter 9. Hookup with His Ex

Georgia’s POV

Nonna tries to distract me from thinking about Ennio, but I just can’t help but get worried. What if Ennio does something to Uncle Manny? Worse, what if Uncle Manny does something to Cara?

I can’t help worrying. I can’t help feeling scared if something were to happen to her… I’d die.

“Eno is a lot of things, and being careful is one of them. He’ll be fine,” she assures, rolling down the pasta, but Ennio is the least of my concern.

“I think I need some fresh air,” I say.

Nonna coos, saying, “Go on. Go, you can’t stay cooped in here all day. Go.”

I take that as a sign for me to walk away, and I basically get out of the kitchen, trying to find my way out of the huge mansion. I hardly reach the balcony doors when someone gets in my way.
