Chapter 49
"How does it feel to be a werewolf?"
I asked, genuinely curious to know and understand what it entailed. Mama Lia had been the first werewolf I ever remembered having a close relationship with, and even at that, I couldn’t really recollect ever seeing her wolf, except in my dreams, and that had been only recently. She usually went out before the sun came up from the horizon, when I was still snuggled in bed sleeping. Even at midnight, she’d transmute and go up the hills, where I’d hear her howling from my bedroom in the cottage where we used to live.
Mama Lia behaved ordinarily, like every human out there. There was no special diet. And aside from the heightened sense of smell and hearing, the incredible strength and stamina, the swiftness, and the piercingly sharp canines, I didn't think there were really any more outstanding traits. But still, I needed to know more from Lia; she was the only one I knew who could tell me more, and moreover, she had said it was her job.
