Chapter 50
The door was unlocked, and I saw him enter. As soon as his eyes landed on mine, the sneer was back. I didn’t wait to be told before I dragged myself down from the bed I’d been lying on since to kneel despite the pain and ache I was feeling. I bowed my head and greeted,
"Welcome, Alpha."
Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed he pulled his chair somewhat close to me, the old wooden furniture making scraping sounds as their legs dragged through the concrete floor. He proceeded to make himself comfortable. There was silence for a few minutes before he spoke.
"Are you ready to tell the truth now?"
I swallowed. But I had told him the truth. I didn’t have anything else to tell him.
"Lia?"
I tried the telepathic link. I wanted to know how she was. I knew she must be extremely scared, and it pulled at my heart how scared she might truly be. I wanted to help, but I could do nothing yet. Lia had said not to agitate my mind, or else I’d never get the chance
