Alpha Arthur’s POV
The day was preparing to welcome the night. Though the sun still brightened the sky, it wasn’t as scorching as it had been a few hours before.
Where was that girl? Where was she taken to? Hailen had sworn she knew nothing about it and somehow I did believe her. If she was a part of it, she wouldn’t have allowed herself to be hit so hard that she would have a small scar on the side of her head. And Ragel had said he knew nothing either.
Luna was worried for me. And she’d been angry too. Angry that I was keeping this from her. And I couldn’t really blame her. We usually unraveled cases together. She’d been a backbone of some sort.
I had some really loyal people around me and Luna Dizane was one of them. I wouldn’t question her loyalty. Her constant nag hadn’t all been meaningless; it was because she cared and wanted to know. But for some reason, I couldn’t tell her.
