Chapter 70
It was the early morning chirping of birds that woke me up. The sun was yet to be out, but the absence of the moon showed that it was a new dawn.
I remained on the layered leaf-bed I had made, cuddling myself to prevent the cold from freezing my bones. The cold air blowing against my back in harsh caress was quite the stinging sensation.
I managed to get up and zip up my body. My legs, which had been snuck into and covered by the frilly hem of my skirt, immediately reacted to the cold, morning air as they stretched out of their covers.
The wood and twigs had been satisfactorily consumed by the fire during the night, the by-products of that fiery consumption were ash and dying embers.
"Is it morning already?"
I could still feel her drowsiness. She was half-awake and yawning.
