Chapter 35. Terrible

I hate being at home alone with Nash. The apartment is always so strange because it’s so quiet. Since Asher and Caleb left yesterday, we’ve pretty much been living in our rooms.

I didn’t understand why we had such a hard time getting along. I thought we had at least agreed to try, but I thought he was still angry from Thursday. He looked so bad when he was with me, which made me feel bad. I knew we could have a normal conversation, but I didn’t want anything to happen.

I had to go to work all day. I had to teach people how to swim and then keep watch for a few hours. Today, I had to leave early because I also needed to go swimming before my shift to get in shape.

When it started to rain, I sighed, put on my raincoat, and went into the kitchen to fill up my water bottle.

Nash came out from down the hall, and I kept my head down and waited for the water to rise to the top.

"Leaving?" When Nash asks, I say yes.
