“Chloe is going to live with three guys! Unbelievable!” Mom yelled angrily.

“Colleen,” Dad said soothingly, using a fatherly tone that made her stop crying. She seemed astonished and outraged about this, which was how I expected her to react, and that was fine with me.

So, I explained it to them. “My friend Elias is moving to New Jersey. Since he is leaving, he hasn’t renewed his lease with his three roommates, who happen to live around 15 minutes away from the university.
