Chapter 9. Hoping for Better
“Hey there!” Caleb entered and waved at me. “Do you need help with anything?” His face had a flushed look, and his hair was damp. It was evident he had just returned from the gym.
“My dad is probably bringing some more boxes. Do you want to help out?” I replied, and he nodded in an odd manner, but it seemed to signal agreement.
When I heard the door open down the hall, I had just finished repositioning my bed to face the window.
