Chapter 71. Dinner
I press my lips together and shut my door. I change into jeans instead of my leggings and put on some concealer to hide the red spots on my face from tears. I try to look as brave as I can. I was going home to eat my mom’s enchiladas. The world isn’t small; it’s big and full of opportunities.
When I open the door a few minutes later, everyone is waiting for me in the living room.
We all get in Nash’s car and drive home. I was just glad to be home again. As I sit in the backseat behind Nash and think about us this afternoon, I smile.
Strangely, when I thought about Nash, I didn’t think about how I had messed up with Zeus. Maybe I never really cared about Zeus, and I just kept putting Nash aside to try to find someone else. I might have thought that Zeus would be the same.
