Narrator’s POV

Quinn was not pleased with the fact that Lucas was treating her like trash. She had given her body to him when he wanted and had made him feel special, as if he was the only man that she wanted in her life. Now, alone, the only thing Quinn could think of doing was to seek solace in her close friend, Lora.

“Men are scum,” Quinn informed Lora as she moved closer to her. “You give them your body, your love, and all your attention. Instead of them returning it, they look at you with disgust and just rebuke you.”

Lora sighed as she tried to reason in the same light that Quinn was reasoning in. “I completely agree with you,” Lora said. “Men are big scums.”

“What do men want?” Quinn asked. “What do you think they really desire that would make them treat us like human beings, at least?”

Lora leaned back against the plush cushions, her expression thoughtful. “You know, it’s not always easy to understand what’s going on in their minds,” she replied
