“Forgive me for not confessing earlier,” he whispered.
I hugged him tightly.
“It’s okay. I’m happy… happier than I’ve been in all my years.”
He smiled and kissed my forehead.
I rested my head on his chest and drifted into a relaxing sleep—something I had lacked in this hell ever since I was brought here.
My eyes fluttered open to the pale light of dawn, that filtered through the grimy window of the room.
I looked around, my sight still blurry then I found Daniel sleeping peacefully beside me.
So it was real?
For a long, suspended moment I just watched him. Last night was very unexpected to me.
It was refreshing to see those harsh lines of anger and resentment that usually etched his features whenever he interacts with me smoothed away by sleep.
I never once thought I would wake this happy in this Bloodfang’s hell.
