Dean stayed with me for a while, but I asked him not to talk to me. We sat on the couch, facing each other. We looked at each other, but neither of us had anything to say. Maybe he had a lot to tell me, and I had a lot to tell him, but none of us spoke. Silence enveloped us and the room. I had to get used to the silence in the house as Jake had left.
I don't know what would become of me. The word defeated described me. It seemed wrong that Jake left the house and left me living here. The house wasn't mine; it was his. But Jake didn't care. Despite his pain, he thought about me and my financial situation. However, this made me feel worse.
