LENA
I vomited. I felt embarrassed because Carla was looking at me with a smile. She enjoyed seeing me in distress. But her smile disappeared when Dean got out of the car and held my hair so that I wouldn't get dirty. I felt Dean stroke my back, showing his support.
"Calm down, you'll be fine," he reassured.

Carla got out of the car. The damn woman did this on purpose.
"Lena, sweetheart! Are you feeling bad?" She pretended to be kind to me. The tone of her voice irritated me.
"What do you think?" I replied sharply.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to intrude. I want to help you, Lena," Carla responded.
"Calm down, Lena," Dean advised. "Getting nervous will only make it worse."
"I'm nervous because she's here," I murmured.
