I felt fear at his words. I didn't want Dean near my children. Carla was going to marry him. She would soon become his wife.

"Why? To play house with you and Carla?"

"My marriage to Carla is none of your business. She knows she's not the mother of our children."

"Last night, you made an excellent decision to leave and decide to stay away from my life. What changed?"

"My children. I won't be able to sleep in peace if I know I've abandoned them. I have to take care of you because my children are inside you. I don't care if you disagree. You have no choice."

I felt anger and helplessness. Since he found out about my children, I felt Dean was trying to control my life.
