Lucas’s POV

I carried Winter in my arms all the way back to the packhouse. We had successfully performed the ritual with the witch, and her Alpha seed had been taken, but Winter had remained unconscious since then.

When I entered the castle, I was met by the sight of my brother standing there with his men, all eyes on us.

Lordan curiously approached me.

“Why do you have his mate?”

“I found her lying unconscious in the mountains,” I replied.

Lordan took Winter’s limp body from my arms and raised an eyebrow.

“What were you doing in the mountains?”

“I don’t need to report every movement to you, brother,” I retorted with irritation.

Lordan chuckled.

“I knew you wouldn’t be able to stay away from me for long.”
