Chapter 4
Alex's POV
Unfortunately, I do not enjoy getting up in the morning. It simply means that my time as a pack slave has begun. I felt this thing every morning, but I'm getting used to it.
Previously, when my parents were still alive. The aroma of freshly made pancakes and maple syrup from our modest kitchen will wake me up. My father will hug me and my mother will kiss me on the cheek. She'll say something.
"Sit down, boys, and let's get started."
I will wash the dishes voluntarily, and then I will assist Mom in planting in her garden. She adores her large property and enjoys cultivating flowers and crops. Those are the most enjoyable mornings of my life. But maybe life is a joke; things always go wrong, and everything may change in an instant.
I went straight to the kitchen and noticed Mariah was not there. I can see a woman speaking and casting hateful glances at me. By the way, I'm used to it.
I lean against the pile of dishes that are waiting for me. I'm aware that they're making things difficult for me. It's always happened to me.
Someone throws rags on me when I'm cleaning some plates, and that one rag becomes two, and I see myself getting wet and dirty. I've served as their target.
I cried the first time I saw this because it was so humiliating and embarrassing, and I felt like I was up against all odds. I didn't feel like I had a buddy or an ally. My life is a disaster.
"That's what happens when you're weak!" "Faggot!" an elderly lady exclaimed to me.
She walks directly toward me, and I notice she is holding a pan in her left hand.
"Not at all, Mrs. Clarkson."
My head was recently smashed by the iron pan. I noticed myself falling to the ground. And no one attempted to assist me. They just stood there and laughed at me. They are so cruel that I sometimes wonder why Luna created all of these monsters.
They are the monsters here, not me. Because they are deaf and always hurt me, they only want to blame me, and they use me as an escape rope.
A warm hand on my shoulder jolted me awake. Mariah is calling, and she seemed concerned about me. I got close to the spot where Mrs. Clarkson smashed her iron pan. It still stings like hell, and my body is both fatigued and light.
"Are you feeling much better now?" I swear the motherfucker old cunt is still capable of throwing some shit. She can't smash someone like she's playing baseball. They are all suffering from significant head injuries. This place is not safe for you, Theo. And I'm sorry I wasn't there to save you."
I gave a genuine smile."No, you don't have to apologize. Because I can't stop them, it's my fault that they hurt me. I am too feeble to defend myself.
"It's not your fault you're weak, Theo. It is their sin because they are abusing their strength and power. They are totally out of their minds! Our reckless alpha has already thoroughly brainwashed them. I laughed because she said, "I really hate this pack!"
The pack doctor ignores me. She does not despise me, but we are not friends. Perhaps she, like everyone else, is afraid of the alpha.
We leave the clinic, and despite my want to relax, I am not permitted. The day is not yet ended. I have to work and contribute to the pack.
"Are you certain? "I mean, you can sneak into my house and sleep there," Mariah said, her eyes fixed on me. My head shook.
"I will not cause you any harm, Mariah." You were punished by the alpha the last time you tried to help me. "I may appear frail, but I can do this," I reason.
She grinned as if she had no option. She let me go and finish the rest of my work for the day.
I've been assigned to deliver food to the practice field once more. When I arrived, I felt the cruel punch of some of the pack warriors.
I'm just glad that night has arrived and that it's finally time for me to slumber. I'm on my way to my tiny little house. It was not present. I'm sleeping in the dog house.
"Are you looking for a place to live? Stop imagining after I saw this," he replied angrily. He displays what he handed. It's the heavy blanket Mariah handed me.
He walks directly to me and places his large hands on my neck. He is strangling me to death.
"S-stop... P-please."
He gave a devilish grin. He is both attractive and ruthless. He has no qualms about killing me.
"Do you know why I despise your existence?" Because you are weak, cursed, and nothing more than extra baggage for this pack."
He tosses me against a nearby tree, and I can feel the impact on my back. I could feel some of my bones cracking. I attempted to cry, but the pain kept me silent, sobbing in agony.
"There are only two kinds of wolves on our planet. Strong or weak. "It just so happens that you are frail and incapable of protecting yourself," he remarked severely before making one last contemptuous face at me.
"Sleep on the floor. I don't mind if you die on cold, as long as you die with the rogue."
He left me with that, and I tried to hug myself for a loving embrace. I'm freezing, in agony, and without hope.
This has been my life for almost a year, and I am still getting used to it.
I merely want acceptance, yet all they've given me is misery.
I obviously have no choice but to walk to the woods. All of the residences in the pack territory are within walking distance of me. Nobody will save me from the cold or from my sad situation.
I wander around the pack territory, passing through the spooky tree. I attempted to gather some wood. I intend to start a fire. Perhaps I can still make fire using stone? As in the old days.
I spent less than ten minutes gathering enough dry wood. I'm on the forest's middle. I'm creeped out by the sounds of nighttime creatures and insects. If I don't have the ability to see in the dark, I might perish from dread.
I took two stones and attempted to make fire, but it failed. I tried the woods, but it also failed.
"This is helpless," I exclaimed, tired.
I like the cold wind that blows on me and makes me embrace myself. I need heat, and if I stay this cold, I'll die. I might be a frozen corpse tomorrow. I don't dread death; I'm afraid of not seeing tomorrow. Because tomorrow holds a lot of possibilities, and if I die, I won't be able to see those possibilities again.
I was about to give up when the forests in front of me began to emanate flames. I'm overjoyed! If I can keep the fire going, I'll be able to get through this frigid night!
That is the strategy. I also carry some edible berries with me. I'm grateful for the night, therefore I'm not tired yet.
"Alex..." said someone.
Mariah was walking in my direction when I noticed her. She embraces me! "What exactly are you doing here, Mariah?" They might come across you and punish you again."
Mariah shook her head in disgust. "They've gone too far, Theo. I believe the moment has come for you to reconsider. We need to get away. What about next week? Okay?"
I'm having a serious thought. I'm debating whether I should leave this place. I know I'm not safe here, yet this is where I spent my last moments with my deceased parents. I don't want to forget those experiences.
Mariah took my hand in hers." I know it will be difficult for you. You adore this place, despite the fact that it only brings you sorrow... However, this location is no longer secure. They are now attempting to kill you more frequently. And you certainly do not deserve to be treated like a rat. Theo, get up! Your parents do not want you to live this kind of life. "Do you get what I'm saying?" She spoke to me.
I agreed with a nod. My parents will be horrified to learn that I am suffering as a result of the pack that they once protected and adored.
"OK,'' I said, nodding. "You are correct. Mariah, I deserve better than this. Perhaps I should begin exploring this world. This is not my world... I don't belong here, and I need to find a place where I do."
Mariah embraced me. "Of course, Theo, we can find it. That place exists, and you are supposed to be there. Just keep in mind that this will not be our final destination."
I agreed and we simply spoke. She brought me some banket and crackers. We basically spoke all night. We're stargazing, and Mariah is a truly wonderful lady. I can't fathom not having her. She built me up to be this strong.
"What if you run into your mate Theo there?" "What are your plans?" Mariah had a question for me.
I cracked a smile. "I'm not sure if I'm still capable of believing in friends." I don't think our Goddess Luna will like me. She turned me into an omega with white fur and cursed me. I don't think she'll even give me a destined one."
"Alex! She obviously adores you! She adores whatever she built out of nothing. Simply believe in Her, and She will provide you with your mated pair. Your intended one is definitely not in this bunch. Is there no one suitable for you here? Every man in this place is plain ugly and an asshole." Her joke made me laugh.
"Perhaps, I don't know. If I meet my mated pair, I will cherish, love, and be with my mate until my last breath," I said as if I were dreaming.
She stares at me as if she adores me. "Do you know what I mean, Theo? Your lover should truly adore you! You are so pure, I don't think anyone else is prepared to be an angel like you."
"Do you think I'm beautiful?" I used to think I was ugly and frail... I'm not sure if anyone will accept me. What's the worst that I'm homosexual and cute?"
Mariah snorted and rolled her eyes. "You're such a do***r, girl. What do you think? When we get out of this hellhole, live your life. Do clubbing, hook up, be wild, young, and free!"
I sighed. "You're having a negative impact on me."
"I'm just a gay fan here! What's the problem with that?"
I laughed, and our entire night chat was great, and I adored it. We both sleep soundly.
***
The very first thing in the morning. She is no longer present. There are no blankets to be found. She might have packed those heavy blankets. She might be able to sneak in before it gets light.
I'm not sure whether I should go back there or stay here in the wilderness. I'm feeling a little more scared than usual.
So I avoided going back there for a time. I'm gathering wild foods to fill my stomach. I intend to go fishing in a nearby river.
