Chapter 20
Eric bent low to where Star was slumped, and his lips bared in an angry hiss at the lump on her head. He wished he could catch the bastard who had done that to her and squeeze with his fists till he blacked out. He had no need to be told Michael had teamed up with his human puppets as he knew he couldn’t have been the one to hit Star on the head.
He had humans working for him, and Eric bit his lips in frustration, worry for Star unsettling his tummy. If Michael had humans working for him now, it meant she was no longer safe, as they would be able to get her to Michael even when the sun kept him indoors.
Eric growled. He wasn’t going to have any rest at all again. That was the implication. He could afford to stay away from Star because he knew Michael couldn’t harm her during the day, but now with this recent development, he had to stay glued to her, and he hoped she allowed that.
He shook her gently, checking if he could rouse her from the unconscious state she was
