Chapter 21

Michael hissed as he paced the floor of his space, wondering why Eric had shown up and had always done whenever he tried to capture Star. He didn’t get what his problem was and what he hoped to gain by always showing up during his business. He doubted it was only to distort the actives as he had planned and was certain there was a different reason for it.

He turned at a gentle knock on the door, and Aston walked in. He nodded to himself, pleased to see him. He would be a fool to believe Romania would still want to work for him based on how he had reacted earlier. He doubted there was anything he could use to tempt her again, and he was grateful he didn’t move to her request and let her go as she had requested.

He would have lost Star and her. He groaned, shaking his head at the possible losses and how he had avoided it. He couldn’t have been able to deal with the loss of two people he really wanted in his life.

Aston bowed to him. “You called for me, my Lord.”
