Chapter 7

Star stretched in her bed, smiling and happy she had woken up before the alarm. She turned the alarm off before she got annoyed with the nasty shrills of the clock. Nothing was going to ruin her day, she said to herself.

“Okay,” she hopped out of bed. It was her first work day as a lawyer after being called to the bar, and she couldn’t wait to get to work.

Her mind flashed back to the weird guy she had met at the party, and she burst out into chuckles. Oh! What an outdated pickup line and attitude. He sounded and seemed like a medieval man. If not for the fact that he looked gorgeous, she would have laughed at him outrightly. She shrugged as she made her way to the bathroom.

She picked through her wardrobe, fumbling with the right clothes to wear. She placed a finger underneath her chin as she stared at each of the suits and gowns she had placed on the bed. She wanted something that screamed, ‘oh, behold, the best lawyer in town!’

She chuckled to herself.&nbs
