Chapter 9
“Are you available for the team dinner tonight?” Tristan knocked as he entered the office.
Star looked up from the files she was reading through.
“I thought we had one the day I joined. I already met the other associates and partners,” she frowned.
He chuckled as he settled into the seat opposite hers.
“That was for you. I guess she didn’t tell you.”
“Tell me what?” She asked, dropping the files in her hand and shoving them to a side. Her grandmother had told her to always make every conversation with people look like a priority even if she would rather do something else, and she had found out how valuable the advice was as it had helped her greatly among her colleagues.
She blinked back tears. She missed Pop so much that it hurt her.
