Chapter 120. I Love You

Keira’s POV

I sat on the sofa, in Clint’s living room, wrapped in a blanket he had given me, staring into the empty space ahead of me. I was not expecting Calvin to show up in front of me again, and not especially in front of Clint’s office.

His presence threw me off guard, and I did not know how to react. I felt useless, helpless, as I remained mute and let Clint do all the talking. I had once thought I could face Calvin when next he reappeared, but here I was, shivering like a wet cat.

The sound of Clint’s footsteps hammering on the floorboard interrupts my thoughts. “Are you feeling better now?” he asked, sitting down beside me and handing me a cup of coffee.

I turned to face him and managed a small smile. “A bit better, but still anxious,” I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.
