Chapter 8
Jared bent low, his feet slightly raised on the floor in attack, and glared at Maia, his arms curved and ready for a fight.
She looked at him, amused, and did nothing, watching and waiting.
He blew out a breath and threw himself at her, trying to spin her legs from under her.
She chuckled and turned, her hands landing on his shoulder, and she pressed down.
She giggled as he screeched in pain and then released him, hoping he was done.
He geared back up and roared toward her again. With a sigh, she captured his hands and folded them together, twisting and pinching till he cried out.
“Shit!” he cried out, going down.
Agony filled his features, but she was unmoved. She wasn’t planning to release him anytime soon and have him double back to get at her again.
She was not and had never been interested in fights and was not ready to play. Not especially with him.
