Theo bursts into laughter, nearly choking on his drink as he leans forward. “She did not just compare skipping lunch to trench warfare.” I don't get what is wrong with it, I'm point out a fact, a clear fact. I can live off crackers and breadsticks, it's food. Even if it's plain and bland, it's still food.
Mason groans and drags a hand down his face. “You are not a soldier in a war zone, Harper.”
Nathan shakes his head and sighs. “If you’re going to try and debate your way out of this, at least use the full facts. Yes, crackers were used during war, but that wasn’t all they ate. They didn’t survive on two breadsticks and a cup of optimism.” Oh, I didn't know that, I thought they just ate crackers, I should have maybe listened a bit better in history then I'd have known that and wouldn't have stabbed myself in the foot like a fool.
