Chapter 81
Harper's POV
For a few long moments, we stay like that, quiet, warm, whole again.
Safe in the wreckage of something that should have ruined me, but somehow, left me steadier instead.
Mason pulls the blankets over both of us, settling behind me on the bed with his chest pressed to my back. His arms wrap around me without a word, and I find myself breathing easier, letting the last of the adrenaline slip away. His warmth is solid, grounding, the gentle rhythm of his breathing a balm against the echoes of what just happened.
I’m almost asleep when the bedroom door opens.
Theo strides in, already toweling off his damp hair, shirtless and freshly showered. He takes one look at Mason curled up behind me and scowls like a king returning to find his throne usurped.
