Valerie Will POV

As soon as my eyes fluttered open, my phone buzzed with a text. Rubbing my eyes with one hand, I reached out for my phone with the other hand.

I gaped at the text from Patrick, blinking in disbelief.

[ You lied to me, you’re not married. ]

How did he find out about it?

Did my mother tell him about it? I was so disappointed.

I chose to trust her but she went ahead to spill it to Patrick in less than twenty-four hours. I wonder what else she must’ve told him.

My blood was boiling with rage.

What if she also told him about Liam? I wouldn’t be able to forgive her for that one. Letting out a deep sigh, I stood up from the bed and went into the bathroom.

I wanted to wash my face.

I needed a minute to think before calling my mother.
