As I went past Harvey, I made my way into the room he had just been in and didn’t spare any glance toward him again. He might have assumed I was on my way to see Summer, since her room was just a few steps away from Amby's.

The moment I set foot in the room, the deafening sound of silence filled the air. The only noises that could be heard in the room were the hum of the air conditioning and the ticking of the clock.
