Chapter 15

Riley's POV 

I was a mess. I felt so ashamed of what I had done, but I also felt a longing for Ash that was overpowering. I wanted him back more than anything, but how could I possibly make that happen? I had been the one who cheated, after all. How could I ever explain myself to him? And what if he rejected me? I couldn't bear the thought of losing him again.

I continued to pace around my office, trying to figure out what to do. Suddenly, a realization hit me. I needed to start by apologizing. I had to own up to my mistake and take responsibility for my actions. It wouldn't be easy, but it was the only way forward. I took a deep breath and picked up the phone but dropped it back. I had done this before and to be sincere, it did not bode well.

Now I understood why he had been so distant. I had shown him I wasn't serious about making amends, and he had lost faith in me. I mean, who apologizes to their ex months after the relationship had been called off? Me. Th
