Chapter 26
My God. Why don’t people ever talk about the fact that this man is so good-looking?
The thought was stuck in Gen’s head as Desmond Scott stood before her, hand offered for a handshake.
“Gen?” Dom called softly, pulling her back to reality. It seemed he wasn’t the least amused because his voice seemed strained.
“Oh,” she blinked, taking Desmond’s hand. “Good evening, Mr. Scott. It’s a pleasure meeting you in person. I’ve heard so much about you.”
“I’m sure you have, and they’ve not been the most flattering things you’ve heard, yes?”
“Well, I believe I’ve heard enough to know you’re both a good businessman and a good family man.”
“Have you now?” His eyes were alight with silent laughter.
“Yes. What I hadn’t heard was that I’d be looking straight at Dominic in the next 30 years when I saw you. I blame you for my speechlessness, Dom.” She turned and playfully shoved Dom, who chuckled and took her hand. This time, everybody laughed out.
