Chapter 32
Her lips were soft. Softer than he remembered. Her taste hit the back of his head, and a groan escaped from him. He tried to hold back, but he couldn’t help himself. He deepened the kiss, pulling her even closer to him. He had no idea how long that kiss lasted, but the sound of Brenda’s foot hitting the floor, her scream, followed by the slam of the door, pulled him out of his near intoxication.
He immediately pushed Gen away from him, ignoring the fact that she staggered on her feet and fought to maintain balance. He turned away from her and headed straight to the drawer of his desk and pulled out antiseptic wipes, with which he calmly wiped his lips. With his back still turned to her, he landed the next blow.
“Good acting. I’m sure she’s convinced we’re an item now. I hope we don’t have to go this far again.” He turned and looked her dead in the eye. He saw hurt flash in them, but a nanosecond later, she gave a small smile.
