Chapter 33

The last two weeks beat every kind of stress Gen had known. From dress fittings to cake tastings, she had to do everything with Dom, who really didn’t care much. There were dress alterations, decor meetings, and more.

Gen swore she would never take this up again. Oh, she had event planners, but still, she had to make most of the decisions and run around a lot. Her whole body hurt, and not in the way she was used to from doing work she loved.

It was two days until the wedding, and now she had to tell Zara about the plan for the next two years. Each time the thought crossed her mind, it was like her heart was being violently ripped out of her chest. But she had to do it. She had, at some point, considered taking Zara with her as her adoptive child or the kid of her relative, but she knew what would happen.
