Chapter 34

The day had arrived. From here, it would be all smooth sailing. Dom was no idealist. He had known that there would be no inner joy at having come this far and getting this marriage done with Geneva. Nonetheless, however, what he didn’t expect to feel was this nothingness. He felt nothing at all. He really just wanted to get it done with and move about his life.

After now, they didn’t have to convince anybody they were in love. They would make a few public appearances as a couple, but it wouldn’t be to show the whole of NYC that they were besotted with each other.

This wedding was going to be brief. Honestly, to Dom, it was still too long. All this required, in his opinion, was a judge and witnesses. However, for public image, they were about to make a show of wedding vows and couple dances.

He sighed as he readjusted his tie. Once upon a time, getting married to Gen would have made him want to throw back his head and howl. Funny thing, this life, he chuckled. Now
