“Why do you seem so shocked?”

“Why wouldn’t I seem shocked? We have never wanted to come ‘home’ to each other. As a matter of fact, you hate me, Dom.”

“No. I don’t. I know I make it seem like that, but trust me, I don’t hate you. Quite the opposite, actually.”

Her heart was in her throat. “What do you mean?” He was about to confess his feelings for her.

“That I am insanely attracted to you, Geneva, and it scares the shit out of me that I may be in love with you after what happened between us. And the fact that this is all going to end?”

He was running his fingers over her arm. She was in shock, staring up at him. She watched as his eyes darkened, and nobody had to tell her what it was that had turned his emerald green eyes so dark.

“It’s crazy that I missed you, isn’t it?”

“It is.”

“And that right now I want to hold you?”

“You have no idea.”

“How weird it is, or how much you want me to hold you?”

“Both, but I’d rathe
